For cats and dogs, this is the tool for greatly reducing shedding fur. The Furminator is designed to gather fur that’s beneath the top coat and gently remove fur underneath, as well as loose fur. After trying different brushes over the years, this brush/comb gathers more fur, quickly and effectively, compared to other brushes. There’s also a quick release for collected fur, so it’s not flying all over, as is the case with other brushes. For different fur types, look for specifications in the descriptions: dog, cat, long hair or short hair.

Try brushing very gently at first to see how your pet reacts, and observe their comfort level. My long haired cats love this brush. Although I sometimes have to follow them around the room to get the job done, they’ll even roll over on their back and allow me to brush more sensitive spots such as chests, under shoulders and chin, and behind their head where they can’t reach.
