It’s a tie. Pantone has chosen two colors to set the stage for design elements in 2016. Introducing Rose Quartz, a pale blush, and Serenity, soft blue with hints of lavender. We typically think of pastels being used with other pastels and creamy shades of white and cream in babies’ rooms for instance. Now we’re going to see some eclectic mixes blending unlikely combinations of these colors in various materials and applications.
Unexpectedly, cottage shiplap walls in Rose Quartz are punched up with a royal navy headboard and bedding, with chic “cottage glam” accents in pure whites and touches of metallic. Serenity blue is appropriately applied to a raised tub in this bath, repeated on the ceiling, and carried through in geometric tiles. A shabby chic room is softened with hints of blush and pink, teal and lavender blues against cooler whites. Landscaping combines vibrant periwinkle and magenta with and pale blush tones,
