True Decorum

Hot Seat

In the mid 1950’s, Vernor Panton traveled across Europe in a converted Volkswagen bus and returned to Denmark, filled with unconventional ideas. One idea was The Heart Cone Chair, exhibited in a New York City shop window, until the police demanded the chair be taken out of sight. The mere sight caused too much traffic and chaos. Today, Vitra, in collaboration with the Panton estate, has recreated The Heart Cone Chair, and is now for sale. Glass fibre reinforced shell, light upholstery and seat cushions, brushed steel crossed base. Wool fabric is available in a variety of colors. DesignPublic.com.
